Exploring the TIDE Settings Menu
Settings Menu
TIDE offers extensive customization options to tailor the IDE to your device and workflow. You can access these options by tapping the Settings icon.
Terminal Settings
- Font Family: Choose a specific TrueType or OpenType programming font for your terminal sessions.
- Font Size: Adjust the text size of the terminal dynamically (from 8sp up to 48sp) using a slider.
- Extra Keys Rows: TIDE provides a customizable row of programming shortcuts above your Android keyboard. You can set this to be Hidden, 1 row, 2 rows, or 3 rows depending on how many shortcuts you need on screen at once.
Desktop GUI
TIDE includes support for running a lightweight graphical desktop in the background, powered by Openbox.
- Start/Stop: Launches or terminates the background desktop session.
- Auto-start on launch: Automatically boot the Desktop GUI session whenever you open TIDE.
- Resolution: Choose the resolution for your virtual desktop (e.g.,
800x600,1024x768,1280x720,1920x1080). - Open Display: Opens the interactive display so you can use the graphical desktop.
Editor Settings
- Font Family: Customize the font used strictly by the code editor.
- Font Size: Adjust the editor text size independently of the terminal (8sp to 48sp).
- Theme: Access the Theme Picker to choose from dozens of bundled color schemes.
- Word Wrap: Toggle whether long lines of code should wrap to the next line or require horizontal scrolling.
App Settings
- App Theme: Change the overall UI theme of TIDE (System Default, Light, Dark).
- Clear Download Cache: Free up storage space used by temporary or downloaded files.
- Check for Updates: Instantly check if a newer version of TIDE is available.
