Settings Menu

TIDE offers extensive customization options to tailor the IDE to your device and workflow. You can access these options by tapping the Settings icon.

Terminal Settings

• Font Family: Choose a specific TrueType or OpenType programming font for your terminal sessions.
• Font Size: Adjust the text size of the terminal dynamically (from 8sp up to 48sp) using a slider.
• Extra Keys Rows: TIDE provides a customizable row of programming shortcuts above your Android keyboard. You can set this to be Hidden, 1 row, 2 rows, or 3 rows depending on how many shortcuts you need on screen at once.

Desktop GUI

TIDE includes support for running a lightweight graphical desktop in the background, powered by Openbox.

• Start/Stop: Launches or terminates the background desktop session.
• Auto-start on launch: Automatically boot the Desktop GUI session whenever you open TIDE.
• Resolution: Choose the resolution for your virtual desktop (e.g., 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x720, 1920x1080).
• Open Display: Opens the interactive display so you can use the graphical desktop.

Editor Settings

• Font Family: Customize the font used strictly by the code editor.
• Font Size: Adjust the editor text size independently of the terminal (8sp to 48sp).
• Theme: Access the Theme Picker to choose from dozens of bundled color schemes.
• Word Wrap: Toggle whether long lines of code should wrap to the next line or require horizontal scrolling.

App Settings

• App Theme: Change the overall UI theme of TIDE (System Default, Light, Dark).
• Clear Download Cache: Free up storage space used by temporary or downloaded files.
• Check for Updates: Instantly check if a newer version of TIDE is available.
